DESCRIPTION

The Winnock Hotel is a former coaching inn overlooking the picturesque village green of Drymen, once frequented by the national folk hero Rob Roy. Situated just three miles from Loch Lomond in the heart of Scotlands first National Park, the hotel is ideally placed in the golden triangle between Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling.

Part of the building dates back to the late 1700s and it has been fully modernised with 72 en suite bedrooms. Many of the Heritage Rooms in the oldest part of the hotel have balconies or four posters. The Elegance Rooms are housed in the Lomond wing built in 2006.

The Merlin Restaurant offers a romantic setting for candlelit dinner with its exposed stonework and original beams. Its A La Carte menu features fine local produce. The Ptarmigan (pronounced Tar-mi-gan) Bar is a cosy pub and lounge offering bar meals and drinks.

There are frequent Ceilidh or Scottish nights in season where guests can reel the night away.

 GREEN FEATURES

The Winnock Hotel has received a gold award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme and is proud to promote its environmental policy.

A range of measures have been introduced including oil recycling, encouraging local wildlife, reducing waste and use of paper and utilities, and encouraging staff and guests to use public transport and bicycles. It has also taken a lead locally in spreading good practices to schools and other organisations.

Its green team meets regularly to improve its environmental approach.
