Torr Buan House is set in Mull’s National Scenic Area on the north west coast of the island, one of Scotland’s most spectacular locales. Designed in an arc, the house takes in panoramic views from sunrise to sunset with the chance of seeing golden eagles, sea eagles, hen harriers, owls and other creatures.

There is one guest suite with its own entrance. The double bedded room has steps down to a sitting area with TV, sliding doors to a conservatory and decked area with hammock and sun loungers. There is an en suite wet shower room, central heating, tea and coffee making facilities

Stays are on a Dinner Bed and Breakfast basis and picnic lunches can also be provided.

GREEN CREDENTIALS                                                                                                

Torr Buan House has been awarded gold by the Green Tourism Business Scheme and has also signed up to the Mull Eco Charter which aims to promote it as an eco-friendly island.

This means it aims to recycle paper and card, glass bottles and jars; make compost; reduce energy consumption with use of low energy light bulbs, thermostats and energy efficient appliances (the house has high spec sheep’s wool insulation); conserve water through reduced flush toilets, use of showers rather than baths; buy local environmentally friendly products with a recycled content; and replant with native trees.

The owner David Woodhouse is one of Scotland’s top wildlife guides and runs daily expeditions around this stunning Hebridean Island. His wife, Joy, uses local produce as much as possible and home grown vegetables and free range eggs.
