DESCRIPTION

The Bonham is a small luxury hotel which opened in 1998 in restored Victorian townhouses overlooking tree lined gardens in the city’s West End. It has since been named Scottish boutique hotel of the year.

It has 48 bedrooms including 2 suites and 7 superior rooms, many with spectacular views of the city. With individual, contemporary décor using rich bold colours each has two telephones with voicemail, cabled broadband access, eTV - a television / in room entertainment centre, desk and seating area, tea/coffee making facilities, mini-bar, en-suite bathroom, Molton Brown toiletries, hairdryer, iron and board, trouser press and luggage stand.

Unusual features include an original Edwardian copper bath in one of the superior rooms and a distinctive crimson spiral sofa-bench in reception. The Bonham also houses a permanent art collection showing the works of approximately 30 local 'up and coming' Scottish artists.

Classic, yet original European inspired dishes are served in the restaurant which has been awarded 2 AA rosettes.

 GREEN FEATURES

Each of the hotels in the Town House group to which this belongs is eco friendly and a member of the Green Tourism Business Scheme – The Bonham has received its gold award. The firm sets out to be responsible and thoughtful with regard to its environmental impact.

This hotel recycles as much glass, plastic, paper, cardboard and cans as possible, including all the newspapers left behind in the bedrooms.

To reduce energy consumption it has fitted all the standard lamps in the bedrooms and many more lights throughout the hotel with low energy bulbs.

To help save water devices are fitted in the toilet cisterns and urinals and the bathrooms all have aerated taps.

The majority of the fruit and vegetables used in the restaurant are grown locally and at least 25% are organic.
