Pollaughan Farm has been acclaimed for the quality of its self catering accommodation in regional awards. It is situated minutes from the beach and the coastal path on Cornwall’s unspoilt and tranquil Roseland Peninsula about 12 miles from St Austell or Truro.

There are five units - four cottages and converted barns plus a self-contained wing of the farmhouse with accommodation sleeping from 2 – 6.

They are well equipped and decorated in neutral colours. All have Wi-fi access and oil-fired central heating and the gardens have furniture and a barbecue. Room service is available so guests can enjoy home cooking without having to do it themselves.

There is an all weather tennis court, a pick your own vegetable and flower patch and a wildlife lake and nature area. Sailing, water sports and a cycle trail are nearby.

Valerie & Tim Penny, who own Pollaughan Farm, say they are aware of the fragile balance of preserving their local environment whilst welcoming the many visitors and that “there are lots of small ways that both you as our visitors, and ourselves in our communities, can try and to minimise the 'footprint'we leave behind us.”

They cite use of recycling facilities, for papers, bottles and cans urge guests to try to reduce, reuse and recycle wherever possible. They urge visitors to use public transport where possible.

They source food and many products locally, helping to keep the local economy alive. A free real nappy service is offered as an alternative to disposables.

Pollaughan Farm Cottages has been selected as an ambassador by CoaST (the Cornwall Sustainable Tourism Project) and has received a gold award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
