Sue & Graham Bergin describe Pinetrees as “a B&B with a difference”.

The timber constructed building is contemporary in style and has many 'eco-friendly' design features. It is set in 6 acres of the Waveney Valley in North Suffolk. It is on route 1 of the National Cycle Network and North Sea Cycle Route and about a mile from the market town of Beccles.

Each of the attractive 3 double bedrooms has en suite shower plus alarm clock, radio and hair drier. One of the bedrooms also caters for people with disabilities and is designed for wheelchair access.

The Bergins offer a wide range of organic breakfasts including free-range eggs from their own hens– but stress out they don't have the Soil Association stamp of approval. Refreshments and packed lunches are also available.

There are secure cycle and parking facilities plus a drying room. 
 

GREEN CREDENTIALS                                                                                                

Pinetrees boasts a number of eco-friendly features. This relatively new building is in an environmentally sensitive location and has been raised on piles so that it floats above the site. It was constructed using timber entirely from sustainable sources. The house is built to be energy efficient and is insulated to exceed most standards.

It incorporates solar panels for heating the water and rain harvesting for all toilet flushing and for clothes washing. It has its own biological system which treats sewage without chemicals and discharges clean water into the ditch at the bottom of the field.

The owners recycle bottles, cans, paper, plastics and cardboard, use organic, Fairtrade and local produce. They have planted trees and created natural habitats in the grounds.

As a result Pinetrees has achieved a Gold rating from the Green Tourism Business Scheme
