DESCRIPTION                                                                                                             

 

Percy’s Hotel and Restaurant is situated on a 130 acre organic estate on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon.

It offers contemporary and eco-friendly accommodation in 8 rooms in a restored, converted 17th century granary well away from the restaurant. They have king size beds, Egyptian cotton bed linen, wide screen television, direct dial telephone, modem point, DVD player and a selection of films and en suite facilities, with whirlpool bath and/or power shower. Bath robes, towels, flannels and toiletries come as standard as does complimentary mineral water. Tea and coffee making facilities are also provided with a cafetiere for fresh coffee, teas and fresh milk housed in a fridge.

“Light, fresh, seasonal and exciting” are the terms used to describe the cooking of award winning restaurant proprietor and leading chef Tina Bricknell-Webb. Special diets are catered for.

There are stylish comfortable lounges and guests can borrow Wellington boots (and the proprietors’ three energetic labradors and collie bitch Sophie) and explore the Estate.

 

 

GREEN CREDENTIALS                                                                                                

 

Around its estate Percy's aims to work sympathetically with the environment. The 60-acre woodland was created with a 'Food from the Forest' theme featuring trees and shrubs such as juniper, rowan, crab apple, hazel and elderflower planted among mixed broadleaves such as beech and oak which encourage a plethora of wild mushrooms. This was enhanced in February 2004 with the addition of an acre of Bramley apple orchard taken from the original eighteenth century rootstock.

Zero food miles are the order of the day. The Estate is Soil Association registered and provides game together with lamb and pork as well as freshly laid eggs. The extensive kitchen garden ensures a year round supply of fresh herbs, salad leaves and vegetables for the restaurant along with wild mushrooms when in season.

Organic duck and chicken are sourced from Exmoor. Seafood is purchased at auctions in nearby Looe.
