Pendoric is a boutique bed and breakfast in the village of St Mawgan, close to the surf beaches of Watergate Bay.

All three bedrooms rooms are smart and modern with a seaside theme. Constantine is a bright double with a private en-suite bathroom and power shower. Porthleven, a double or single, has views across the valley of Lanherne and has a shared luxury bathroom and power shower. Sennen Cove is a large double room with views over the village and surrounding countryside. An adjoining room can be opened up to make a twin, triple, quad or family suite. This has a shared luxury bathroom and shower. The bedding is allergy-free and there is wireless broadband access from all rooms.

Breakfast includes home made bread and local and organic produce. Tea, coffee, cake and fruit are available all day. Food allergies and intolerances are catered for.

Pendoric is surfer-friendly. It has wetsuit and board storage, can arrange for surf kit hire and delivery and is 20 minutes from the world class Fistral Beach in Newquay.

Guests are welcome to use the secluded garden.

GREEN CREDENTIALS                                                                                                

Pendoric belongs to the Cornwall Sustainable Tourism Project. Its electricity is from a green tariff, energy efficient light bulbs are being installed, appliances have A ratings, radiators are thermostatically controlled to reduce energy usage, and there is an efficient wood burner that uses locally sourced wood from a sustainable forest.

Most toilet cisterns minimize the water needed per flush. Guest towels are changed only every 3-4 days to save water.

Phosphate free cleaning products are used, shower gels, shampoos and conditioners are all environmentally friendly. Rubbish is recycled and organic waste composted.

Food is bought from the local farm shop, and tea, coffee, sugar and fruit are Fairtrade and organic wherever possible.

Pendoric has introduced a voluntary Visitor Payback scheme asking for a £1 donation from each guest towards beach cleaning and life guarding at Watergate Bay and the owners have undertaken to cover any shortfall and they take part in voluntary beach cleaning days.

It encourages visitors to offset their CO2 emissions and give discounts to those do so.
