South Allington House is a grade 2 listed Georgian manor house set on a working farm in four acres of beautiful grounds. It is located in South Devon and lies in the secluded valley of South Allington between Start Point and Prawle Point, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty.
There are 9 rooms available for bed and breakfast in the house: five en-suites, two four poster beds with en suite, and two with private facilities. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, colour television and hairdryer. There is also a visitors’ television lounge.
There are also 3 well equipped self catering units. The Laurels is the east wing of the main house and sleeps 4 while in the grounds the Coach House sleeps seven and Coachman’s Lodge sleeps six.
Guests are free to use the grounds which include croquet, coarse fishing and a tennis court.
Environmentally friendly measures at South Allington House include the use of solar power, low energy light bulbs, a water leak monitor and high flow alarm, and heating using wood from the grounds. All garden waste is composted and as much general waste is recycled as possible.
The business uses biodegradable cleaning products and purchases local and Fairtrade produce. Home grown fruit is used for preserves.
