Description

This luxurious lodge is situated on the seashore of Loch Ewe, backed by majestic mountains and in a region called "the last great wilderness of Europe", Wester Ross in the Highlands.

Pool House has been named the most romantic hotel in Scotland and the world. The building is a Victorian time capsule, filled with antiques, paintings, porcelain and curiosities.

It sleeps up to 14 people in 7 individually designed suites, some with four posters. and including “Whimbrel” a wood clad former boat house, a secluded hideaway in the grounds.

The "North by North West" dining room has been awarded 2 AA rosettes. Its menu is based mainly on game, fish and seafood. The room has a nautical look and spectacular views with the chance to observe seals, otters and a wide variety of birds. Binoculars are provided for more wildlife viewing from the Library Drawing Room where afternoon teas are served. Rare single malts are available in the Rowallan Room which also boasts a full-size antique billiard table for guests' use.

Extra activities can be arranged including a falconry display, the opportunity to fly a Harris hawk on the heights of Kinlochewe, ranger guided walks and even a visit by a world renowned perfumier.

Pool House claims to be one of the UK's most environmentally friendly hotels and has received awards in recognition of this. Pool House was one of the first hotels in Scotland to achieve a Gold Award from Visit Scotland's Green Business Tourism Scheme with a 99% score. Over the years it has also received commendations in the Environment Agency "Water Efficiency Awards", the Business Commitment to the Environment awards and Vibes (Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland Award).
