Green features

Proprietor Dave Grimes says Plas Mawr aims for continual environmental improvement.
They do what they can to limit its impact on the environment without compromising guests’ comfort.

Low energy lighting and appliances are used where possible and a wood fire heats the residents’ lounge with wood sourced locally in an environmentally responsible way. They minimise food miles by growing vegetables and sourcing locally farmed organic meat. Otherwise Fairtrade products are used. Towels are not laundered daily unless by request and eco-friendly cleaning products are used where possible. They recycle approximately 4 times as much rubbish as goes to landfill.

Plas Mawr has passed its Green Dragon inspection with a level 2 award.
