Little Marshfoot
Bordering the Pevensey Levels and near Hailsham
Self catering accommodation with a range of green features

This self contained accommodation has been constructed in the gardens of a former farmhouse. It is located on the edge of the Pevensey Levels, the largest area of wetland in East Sussex, a nature reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is near the market town of Hailsham and seven miles from the sea.

Sleeping four, it comprises one double bedded and one twin bedded room, each with a separate en-suite shower room. A radio, TV, DVD or video player and hairdryer are provided in each bedroom.

The living room/diner is furnished to a high standard and contains a fridge freezer, gas hob, electric oven, microwave, washer/drier and dishwasher.
An unusual feature is the ‘loggia’ which provides additional outdoor living space throughout the year.

There is off road parking and storage for wet clothes, muddy boots, and cycles.

Green features

The building’s Scandinavian style embodies a range of 'green' features. The building is well insulated, double glazed and centrally heated.

The owners have been concerned about the problems with the drought in South East England and have undertaken some work in the garden to respond to this. They are gradually including more xerophytes - plants that can cope with a Mediterranean style climate - and hope this will encourage visitors to try out some of the ideas in their own gardens

It has a Green Tourism Business Scheme gold award.
