This is a family-run hotel in the village of Embleton, close to the sandy Northumberland coast and the imposing ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle.
There are 18 bedrooms in the main building and in the courtyard a barn conversion houses three stunning suites, each with a lounge and gallery bedroom above. All are comfortably furnished to a high standard with en suite facilities, colour television, radio alarm, hairdryer and hot drinks tray.
There are two restaurants, the Castle Grill Room with its a la carte menu and the Residents Dining Room which serves a table d'hote menu. In addition guests have the use of television and coffee lounges with open fires, licensed bar and country garden.

Electricity is generated from 100% clean renewable sources and there is low energy lighting throughout, with timers where appropriate. The loft has been extensively insulated.
Glass, cans, plastic bottles, paper and cardboard are collected for recycling, and all appropriate kitchen waste is composted. Recycled paper is used in all stationery as well as for toilet tissues. Towels are only changed on request. Wherever possible, local, Fairtrade and GM free products are used.
There is a 10% discount to any guests arriving by foot, bicycle or public transport and 5% discount to guests who arrive by car, are staying for 3 nights or more, and who surrender their car keys for the duration of their stay.
