Green B&B and self catering specially for families with toddlers 
 

DESCRIPTION                                                                                                             

A 15th century working beef farm on the edge of Bodmin Moor, Higher Lank Farm has belonged to the Finnemore family for the last 100 years.

Described as “toddler dream holidays”, stays there are exclusively for families with at least one young child under 6. They can feed the chickens, ducks, geese, guinea fowl and the pigs, collect eggs for breakfast, groom the pony, ride on a mini tractor and trailer, and play in the farm themed playgrounds. Toy boxes, babysitting and baby equipment are provided.

For bed and breakfast guests there are three en suite rooms in the main farm house. Fussy eaters and special diets are catered for. There are nursery teas and cream teas are served in the garden.

Self catering accommodation is available in two 17th century renovated “Nursery Rhyme” barns close by. Bo Peep Cottage sleeps up to 4 adults and 5 children and Humpty Dumpty Cottage sleeps a family of 2 adults and up to 4 children. They are fully equipped, have under floor heating, their own gardens and a daily maid service.

Higher Lank Farm holidays can be booked from January till October.

The Finnemores welcome real nappy users and provide nappy buckets and a nappy laundry service for guests. In partnership with the Cornish Real Nappy Campaign they offer guests an opportunity to borrow, free of charge, a selection of real nappies, and to discover how easy they are to use.

To minimise land fill waste they operate a recycling system and provide bins for newspaper, plastics, bottles and cardboard waste.

They use refillable pump dispensers for hand and body washes and wash towels on alternate days (unless guests request otherwise).

The barn conversions were completed with environmental issues in mind. The highest U value insulation available has been used, underfloor heating installed to save on oil consumption, and wood burning stoves which burn logs from the woods. Electrical appliances are ‘A’ rated for efficiency.
