GREEN CREDENTIALS
The Glenora has been awarded a bronze Green Business Tourism award for its eco-friendly commitments.
To save energy domestic appliances with A rating and low energy light bulbs have been installed, small kettles are supplied to bedrooms and the washing machine is restricted to the 30 degree cycle. Water saving is achieved through the installation of low flush toilets and of showers rather than baths and there is a towel use agreement with guests. Phosphate free soaps and detergents and chlorine free cleaning products are used throughout the building.
Glass, paper, cardboard, soap products, printer and toner cartridges, electrical goods and textiles are recycled and the business uses recycled paper products and print cartridges.
Organic food and Fairtrade products are served, but no individually wrapped foods, and local suppliers are utilised. There is no company car as all staff use public transport.
