Environmentally friendly bungalow offering B&B accommodation 

 

DESCRIPTION                                                                                                             

 

Dyfi Guest is a luxurious modern bungalow situated within 4 minutes’ walking distance of the historical town of Machynlleth overlooking the Dyfi Valley.

The accommodation has a tastefully furnished double room with hospitality tray and deluxe en suite facilities with complimentary toiletries. There is direct access for disabled guests.

Delicious organic breakfasts made with local produce mostly from the Dyfi Valley are served in the elegant dining room overlooking the panorama of the Dyfi valley and Snowdonia National Park. All diets are catered for with vegetarian and vegan a speciality. Evening meals are available for vegetarians and vegans only.

There is a large comfortable lounge with wide screen satellite TV for guests, a newly built conservatory and a large paved patio.

The railway & bus station 200yds away and a complimentary pickup service is available. There is also private secure parking with a lock-up garage for cycles and motorcycles.

 

 

GREEN CREDENTIALS                                                                                                

 

This is a Green Dragon awarded environmentally friendly bungalow. It is timber framed with high a high level of insulation, has solar panels for hot water, all appliances are low energy, and every effort is made to switch off appliances’ standby lights.

Fruit, vegetables, eggs and homemade breads are all organic and produced locally. All the tea, sugar, fruit teas, hot chocolate and coffee come from Fairtrade sources: the Dyfl valley is a Fairtrade valley.

The owners recycle cans, paper and bottles and are happy to recycle guests’ waste. There is a large water butt for washing boots and, bikes. Towels and bedding are changed only on request.

Guests are encouraged to support these measures by turning all lights off when leaving rooms, closing doors to conserve heat, using the bathroom fan sparingly and by using public transport whenever possible.

The owners are members of "The Centre for Alternative Technology" and also encourage all guests to visit and support this leading European eco centre which is just two miles away.
