The Apex International Hotel offers luxury modern accommodation in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town. Shopping, the Royal Mile, Holyrood House, Dynamic Earth, Princes Street and Edinburgh Castle are all within easy reach.

Part of a small independent hotel group it has 171 contemporary Standard, Executive and Superior rooms and suites, all with widescreen TVs, DVD players and en suite bathrooms with walk-in power showers.

Fine Scottish cusine is served in The Heights Rooftop Restaurant which has won two AA Rosettes and has stunning views of the Castle’s great drum tower. Metro Brasserie and Bar Is more relaxed and informal. Metro Express with simpler yet tasty dishes is open during the day.

The “Yu Time” leisure and fitness spa features a Tropicarium with sauna and steam; a stainless steel indoor swimming pool which is ozone purified and as a consequence has no “bleachy whiffs”; and a well equipped gymnasium. 
 

GREEN CREDENTIALS                                                                                                

The Apex group of hotels has rapidly become admired in the trade for its company-wide environmental policy. It has a green team headed by an Environmental Director based in Edinburgh and a Green Champion in each hotel.

All staff members are briefed on these measures and environmental audits and spot checks are conducted with the scores going towards their bonus scheme. Like its sister hotels the Apex International was designed to incorporate energy efficient features.

The hotel aims to use eco-friendly chemicals, to purchase recycled goods wherever appropriate, recycle a range of materials, and monitor and reduce energy consumption. Customers are offered the chance to carbon offset weddings, conferences and other events with Climate Care.

Like its sister hotels in Scotland it has been awarded Gold in the Green Tourism Business Scheme and has also received numerous other “green” accolades such as Gold in the Keep Edinburgh Clean Awards and a Major Commendation in the Business Commitment to the Environment Awards 2007.
