DESCRIPTION The Alvia is housed in a refurbished Victorian building within walking distance of the seafront and the centre of Brighton in one of its most attractive areas, Kemptown.
Describing itself as a luxury boutique guest house with affordable and contemporary design itt has 10 rooms ranging from four poster to the uber contemporary Venetian-style on the top floor. There is also a basement family room with adjoining single room and patio. They feature TVs, music systems and wireless broadband access.
On offer at breakfast are smoked salmon with coriander and scrambled eggs to freshly baked bread and oven baked fruit compote.
There are no bar or restaurant facilities, but the concierge will happily recommend places to wine and dine. GREEN CREDENTIALS The Alvia is committed environmental protection. Its policy covers recycling and waste management, use of energy and water, transport and staff training.
For a number of years it has been using recycling services for paper, glass, cardoard, tetra-packs, oil, plastic, aluminium cans and confidential waste.
It encourages guest to use public transport or bikes or the town’s eco-friendly minicab service.
It monitors the use of energy and water with the aim to reduce usage in future.
