Alkham Court is a bed and breakfast set on a working farm complete with sheep and horses in Alkham Valley. It lies between Folkestone and Dover, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is a good base for exploring the Kentish countryside and touring 'the Garden of England'.

There are 3 double or twin bedrooms each with its own individual country style with antique and painted furniture, hand painted and embroidered pictures and luxury furnishings. The rooms are self-contained and have their own private entrance into the house. Each is provided with thoughtful extras including fresh fruit and flowers, chocolates, hostess tray, Bronnley toiletries, bathrobes and mini-fridge.

Breakfast ingredients are sourced locally from local producers and the local Farmers' Market at Capel-le-Ferne. Guests are welcome to relax in the conservatory and garden.

Alkham Court’s proprietor Wendy Burrows says she is very much aware of her responsibility to the environment and aims to recycle and compost as much as possible, to save energy and reduce waste.

Measures include using eco-friendly cleaning products, low energy light bulbs, buying local fresh produce and Fairtrade products.

Around the farm the paddock has been over sown with wild flowers and various grasses; the hedges are trimmed every 2 years to make them denser and help nesting birds; a 2 metre border is left uncut around the edge of hayfields, to help the insect and butterfly populations; and fertilizer applications are kept to a minimum on the chalk downland to boost the flora and fauna.
