ABOUT US Why we are here
We set up this site to provide a clear, practical and user friendly guide for the growing band of holiday makers with a conscience who want to do something worthwhile about the environmental effects of their travel.
Who we are
Launched in December 2006, ecofriendlytourist.com is owned and maintained by Eric Rowan Productions Limited. Our London based company was established in 1999 originally as a television producer and has made factual programmes for BBC2, ITV1 and Nickelodeon UK. This is its first venture as a website publisher. Previously its founder Eric Rowan was a journalist and award winning television producer at the BBC. He has co-edited the books: ‘The Really Wild Guide to Britain’ (wildlife attractions - BBC) and ‘And Finally’ (funny news stories - BBC/Knight Books). We don’t claim to be ‘eco experts’, but we do think we are inquisitive and informed.
What we do
We offer information and opinions to help concerned tourists plan holidays that are greener so they can do their bit. We don’t preach and we avoid jargon. All the information on this site is based on journalistic research.
